Sandwich
Generation

The Sandwich Generation is the current generation of adults who are still caring for children (including older or adult children) and also are caring for their aging parents. I have separated this from caregiving and caregiver fatigue because it’s not just about the stress of caregiving.

You need understanding what it’s like for someone from this generation to be a caregiver, and everything else that comes with this age.

Mostly Generation X, it is also the smaller generation sandwiched between Millennials and Boomers. There’s less of us, and our unique perspective on the world makes us a more challenging group to get the help and support we need.

As a fellow Gen-Xer, I know that individuality and autonomy are important to you.

You’re used to doing things on your own and getting things done, so if you are asking for help, it’s because you really need it.

You don’t need to be told what to do, but are looking for someone to help you figure it out for yourself. I understand all of this, and I have incorporated it into my therapeutic approach.

As your therapist, I will help you achieve balance in your life. I will help you reconnect to what is meaningful to you, and I will respect the independence that you need.
